Carnaby Entree

The endangered carnaby cockatoos frequent my studio in Dwellingup, Western Australia. This painting started with a vivid red background, with the sky painted in last, leaving tiny areas of red showing through. I like to do this, as if you look closely, our eucalypt forest has many hues of red in it, which glow through in this simple painting.
