From Wendy's paintbrush and a place of genuine wonder. The Road Less Travelled is painted from a lifetime of coming back to this place. Wendy grew up in Denmark, and these rocks are in her bones. At Elephant Rocks in Western Australia – those great ancient granite boulders, worn smooth by millennia of wind and water, are gathered together like old friends around a pool of the most extraordinary turquoise. Not aqua. Not blue.
Wendy has painted this from above and within – looking down into the heart of the boulders, where the water sits still and is impossibly vivid between the purple/grey stones.
