‘Quokka Smile’ was painted especially for some regions like Denmark, Dwellingup and Walpole which are homes to the mainland quokka (as opposed to the famous Rottnest quokka). I used my dog Pekoe’s eyes as the inspiration for this quokka with attitude. I painted him on a white background, then he was ‘deep etched’ by my graphic designer so the background was transparent. Then he could be placed on any background. He now also adorns my 2024 calendar, as well as sunglass cases, both available on this site. I painted the background of the original afterwards, so he would look great on someones wall.
